DAY FOR THE RETIRED

Day for the Retired is hugely popular and greatly enjoyed! It runs weekly on Tuesdays at 10.30am and roughly follows a school-term pattern. Check with the Office for dates for this term. Starting at 10.30am with refreshments and chat, a fun and varied hour's programme then gets underway at 11am. This could consist of anything from keep-fit to quizzes, ball games to brain-teasers or skittles to Scrabble. A short, thought-provoking 'pause-for-thought' follows. Then there's a delicious, home-made, two-course hot meal for a very reasonable £2.50. Everything finishes by 1pm.

New this year was a very successful 'Holiday at Home' week when we invited local people to join us for a cruise with a difference - a special week featuring activities each day with an international flavour. We also run a week away for older people and this year we were fortunate to pick a lovely sunny week in Weymouth.
